ZTE Router Login and ZXHN Setup Guide

ZTE Corporation is a Chinese multinational telecommunications manufacturer. They produce a wide range of networking devices: ADSL/VDSL gateways, fiber ONT devices, 4G/5G home broadband gateways, and standalone Wi-Fi routers. ZTE hardware is heavily deployed by ISPs in Asia, Middle East, Africa, and increasingly in Europe as white-label devices.

Like its compatriot Huawei, ZTE builds enormous volumes of broadband hardware that reach you wearing an ISP's badge rather than ZTE's own, the ZXHN H108N, H168N, H288A, F660 and F670L fibre ONTs turn up on carriers across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and parts of Europe. So the "default" login depends far more on your provider than on ZTE. The generic admin/admin holds on plenty of units, but a large share ship with a unique password printed on the label, and a fibre ONT will often have a restricted admin account plus a hidden superuser exactly as Huawei's do.

Most ZTE gateways answer at 192.168.1.1; a subset (and many retail-ish units) use 192.168.0.1. If one does nothing, try the other, or read the Default Gateway line from ipconfig.

ZTE fibre units follow the same two-tier pattern as Huawei: the login your ISP gives you (often "user" with a simple password, or a labelled credential) sees a stripped-down panel, while a separate superuser account unlocks WAN, VLAN and bridge-mode settings. On many ZXHN models that account has historically been usernames like admin with a device-specific or algorithm-derived password, and on some, credentials that circulated widely enough that ISPs began locking them down.

Two honest cautions. First, we're not going to publish a list of superuser passwords, they vary per firmware and ISP, and the ones floating around forums are hit-or-miss and go stale as providers patch them. Second, changing VLAN or WAN parameters on a provider ONT can drop your service until the ISP re-registers the device, so only go in there if you understand what you're changing and can revert it. For most people, the supported path to "I want my own router in charge" is asking the ISP to enable bridge mode, or using their app, rather than superuser spelunking.
