About Synology SRM Routers

Connect your device via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable to the Synology SRM router.
Navigate to http://192.168.1.1 in a browser.

Troubleshooting
Synology's reset button has two modes and the difference matters. Hold it about 4 seconds (one beep): soft reset, which clears the admin password and a few connection settings but keeps your network config. Hold around 10 seconds (multiple beeps): full factory reset, everything gone. For a lost password you want the 4-second one, then reach the router at 192.168.1.1 and set a new password.
Safe Access → Profiles → the affected profile → Exception List, add the domain. Filtering is category-based and categories misfire sometimes; school sites landing in "unrated" is the classic case.
If DHCP settings were changed and 192.168.1.1 doesn't answer, browse to router.synology.com from inside the network, SRM redirects that to the router's current address. The DS Router phone app also finds it automatically.
Check Package Center for pending SRM updates first, then reboot from the control panel rather than pulling power. Synology pushes fewer but chunkier updates than most router vendors, and a pending one can sit half-applied in odd states.

What if the default credentials do not work?
Check the physical label on the device for custom credentials. If the password was changed and is unknown, press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds to restore factory defaults. After a factory reset, the default credentials listed above will work again.
