Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1 - Belkin used different defaults across their product lines. Run ipconfig on Windows to check your actual Default Gateway.

Factory default is admin with blank password (no password at all - just click Login). If that fails, someone set a password. Press and hold Reset for 10 seconds to restore factory defaults.

Neither 192.168.1.254 nor 192.168.2.1 loads - what is my Belkin's IP?

Run ipconfig on Windows (or ip route show default on Mac/Linux) and look at the Default Gateway value. That is always your router's current IP regardless of brand. Some Belkin models may have had their IP changed from factory defaults by a previous owner.

Two Belkins, and Which One You Have Matters

Belkin login trouble almost always comes down to not knowing which generation you're holding, because the defaults changed twice. The older N and F5D routers sat at 192.168.2.1 with username admin and a blank password. Later AC models moved to 192.168.1.254 (address ending .254, not .1, this trips everyone) or in some cases 192.168.1.1, still admin, still often blank. When a guide's address does nothing, you're probably reading instructions for the other era. Check the sticker before anything else.

And a piece of history that explains a lot of confusion: Belkin bought Linksys from Cisco in 2013, then Foxconn bought Belkin in 2018. Some later "Belkin" and Linksys gear shares firmware DNA, which is why a Belkin panel occasionally feels oddly familiar if you've used a Linksys. The brand has largely exited the home-router market since, so if yours is more than a few years old, treat firmware updates as unlikely and lean harder on a strong Wi-Fi password to compensate.

The "Blank Password" Thing Is Real

Belkin genuinely shipped many routers with no admin password at all, an empty field you simply skip past by clicking Submit. People assume they've forgotten it or that the page is broken; they haven't, and it isn't. Leave the box empty and log in. Obviously the first thing to do once inside is set an actual password, an open admin panel on a router is exactly the sort of thing a compromised laptop or IoT gadget goes looking for.

If a Belkin at these addresses rejects the blank login, either someone set a password already (factory reset via the recessed button restores blank) or you're on an ISP-rebadged unit where the provider set a unique password, printed, as ever, on the label.
